Sood Sabha Shimla came into existence as a registered body under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in the year 1961. As per the Will of Shri Dittoo Mall, Sood Sabha, Shimla took over the property of Ram Mandir, which included both the temple and shops that were in a rundown condition. A draft of Rules and Regulations was prepared for running the affairs Sood Sabha, Shimla which was finally adopted in 1965. The foremost altruistic activities undertaken by Sood Sabha Shimla are to attain and encourage public welfare without discriminating any cast, creed or religion. Engaging in charitable activities, social and educational uplift, to provide comfortable accommodation on nominal charges, granting scholarships and stipends to underprivileged people, widows, and students as its dictum has always been financial and material aid without any prejudice and chauvinism.
