Bunts Sangha Pune was established in the year 1975. Few elderly Bunts namely Shri Govardhan Shetty, Late Shri Gunduraj M Shetty, Prof Subbanna Shetty, Shri Jagannath B Shetty and a few Bunts felt that Pune needed an organized sangha to bring the community members on a common platform for fellowship. Then there were hardly 200 Bunt families in Pune accounting for nearly 1000 Bunt individuals.
